Activities in 2022

In 2022, we visited eight vedha patasala and understood how they operate and how much they are spending each month to run these vedic schools. We understood that on an average these patasalas are spending around one lakhs (Rs. 100,000) per month to run it. Sri Gopala Deekshidhar Vedha Rakshana Trust donated $10,000 (Equivalent to eight lakhs rupees) for these patasalas.

Along with vedic education these students are also learning mathematics, science and english. These patasalas are also providing free food, clothing, scholarship and medical facilities to ensure good health, during this entire course of study lasting between 6 to 10 years. With the help of the donations received from the kind hearted donors, they are able to render this kind of noble service to the young children. The adyapakars (teachers) are compensated fairly. Each patasala has a dedicated cook(s) making very good nutritious food for these students (vidyarthis). Students are visiting their family twice a year. Once they complete their vedic education, they get a certificate from Kanchi Sankaracharya along with one lakh rupees (Rs. 100,000) as reward for graduating vedic lessons. It was an eye opening experience to visit and learn about these vedic schools.
